Thousands of themes to choose from, where to go?! Here are my favorites.

Theme Forest: This is my new favorite site. You have to be wary, choose themes that seem to have good support (check if they have a support forum, and/or answer quickly in the comments section) and you often don’t really know what you are getting until you download and test the theme in terms of functionality. (so i choose only high ranked, purchased themes)… but so much variety your head will spin. This theme i’ve used for I/E is from theme forest.

Elegant Themes and Organic Themes  – are two other great sites, with quality themes, and stellar support. To me the success of a theme is in it’s flexibility, and support.

There are literally thousands of plugins available for wordpress. It can take hours to find/test them. Here is a growing list of my favorite plugins tested and true!

WordPress Download Manager

Creates a proper download link for files in wordpress. WordPress doesn’t allow you to set a link to a media file. You either get page not found, or you are taken to the file, but it simply plays. The only way to download it is to save the page, which isn’t always that intuitive for the user.

This plugin has a media manager that either allows you to upload the file, or search for it in your site files. So great for small and large files. It then also gives you an assortment of buttons to use for your download.
